Summary

The program director and assistant/associate professor of the nuclear medicine program is responsible for the administration, curriculum, organization, student recruitment, instruction, evaluation, advisement, supervision, and assessment of the students and the program, including other faculty teaching in the program. The program director also ensures effectiveness of the clinical affiliates. As a faculty member, the individual will also teach courses in the program in accordance with the workload policy and fulfill the requirements of the faculty role as outlined in the faculty handbook. This position includes administration of the program, teaching, scholarship, and service. Rank is commensurate with previous teaching experience, past scholarly achievement, and service.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees the nuclear medicine program and all functions associated with the program, including accreditation through the JRCNMT.

  • Assume faculty leadership and provide mentoring and support for program faculty and staff development.

  • Prepares and obtains approval for all accreditation documents.

  • Conducts program, course, and faculty assessments in accordance with the accreditation organization and the college.

  • Evaluates and maintains clinical sites.

  • Maintains communication between Regis College/Nuclear Medicine Program and the clinical sites.

  • Assists admissions department with recruitment.

  • Maintains a teaching workload in accordance with the faculty handbook.

  • Encourages student learning through development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the course curriculum.

  • Advises students in regard to curriculum, progression, and clinical assignments.

  • Establishes a positive learning environment to ensure student educational success.

  • Participates in all activities related to the college, school, and department.

  • Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline such as publishing, presenting at national, regional, and local conferences, conducting research and/or grant writing and related activities.

Qualifications

Skills/Experience/Education Required:

  • Master's degree required. Bachelor's degree in medical Imaging (or related field) will be considered with demonstrated progress being made in a master's degree program and in accordance with the JRCNMT standards.

  • Minimum of four years of full-time clinical experience in nuclear medicine technology. Current NMTCB and/or ARRT (N) certification required. Computed Tomography certification (ARRT (CT)) preferred.

  • Minimum of one year of previous teaching experience (didactic or clinical setting) as outlined by the JRCNMT.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.

  • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
