Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency | Montclair, NJ- 20 Mi From NYC

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is searching for a Program Director for its esteemed Internal Medicine Residency Program located in Montclair, NJ- 20 mi from New York City.

The Internal Medicine Program Director will oversee and manage all aspects of the ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program with 26 residents including: curriculum development, resident and faculty scheduling, teaching/supervising residents, as well as evaluation of the program's effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an educator/primary care in Internal Medicine

• ACLS/BCS Certification

• Previous experience as program director preferred

Additional Position Details:

• This is approximately a 60% administrative position and 40% clinical position.

• Teaching and clinical duties are performed in the inpatient and outpatient settings (ambulatory clinic is 3 blocks from the hospital).

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure the program continues to maintain accreditation standards and a high level of excellence.

• Recruit, train, support and mentor Internal Medicine residents.

• Work with inter-hospital departments to form productive relationships between the residency program and them.

• Maintain a positive working and learning environment for the residents, promoting a culture of courage, care, and compassion.

• Implement and follow ACGME regulations and policies as well as ensure compliance with legal requirements.

• Provide regular evaluations and feedback to the residents.

• Develop new strategies to improve resident education, participation in research, quality improvement projects and scholarly activity in general.

• Stay current with advancement in the world of medicine and medical education.

• Create new relationships with community organizations and medical schools.

• Work with hospital administration as the intermediary for residency program and the hospital administration, communicating any concerns or issues that arise

• Clinically, see patients as an acute care and primary care internists with the resident team.
