Responsibilities

The Office of Admissions is a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which is comprised of four distinct units: Office of Admissions, Office of the University Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management's integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the student's development and progression in their academic experience - from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families and to campus partners across the University.

Responsible for the training and documentation of the holistic first-year application review process. Manages the Seasonal Holistic File Review staff and training program.

Responsible for the strategic planning, administration, and assessment of the Seasonal Holistic File Review program. Recruits, manages, and trains seasonal OPS employees for first-year holistic application review. Develops file review training programs, documentation, validity assessment, and feedback for the holistic first-year file review program. Collaborates with senior leadership to introduce enhancements.

Responsible for the development and documentation of training programs for the holistic first-year admissions file review processes in collaboration with senior leadership. Conducts annual audits of training and documentation programs for the Office of Admissions to ensure it is updated with current business processes. Develops a hiring and onboarding program for new first-year hires.

Collects statistical data to assess the instructional effectiveness of the holistic file review training programs for continuous improvement efforts that lead to thorough and consistent review of first-year applications. Participates in strategic planning, staffing decisions, and program development for the Office of Admissions to ensure program goals, objectives and activities meet academic support and University standards. Develops and maintains partnerships with various stakeholders across Enrollment Management and the University to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Extensive travel to high schools and college fairs. Due to travel needs, position requires operation of a motor vehicle. Frequently conducting information sessions, reviewing, and evaluating applications for admission and making recommendations on student selection. Counsels prospective students and their family members about the educational and financial aid opportunities at the University. Frequent contact with high school counselors, principals, teachers, and officials from other colleges and universities. Occasional contact with personnel from ACT, CLT, College Board, and other outside vendors.

Assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Office of Admissions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to ten years (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

  • Applicants must have a valid Driver's License to be eligible for position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and complimentary experience is preferred.

  • We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented and who work well independently as well as in a team.

  • Experience working with public speaking, reviewing transcripts, and interpreting and applying admissions tests is preferred.

  • Candidates should have the ability to review, analyze, formulate, and organize data and information and follow through on assignments.

  • Applicants should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Candidates with a strong sense of initiative and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently are preferred.

  • The ability to make sound judgments while working in a deadline-driven environment is essential.

  • Qualified candidates will possess the ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously.

  • Candidates should have previous experience in public speaking.

  • Qualified candidates will have excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience creating and delivering presentations to small and large groups.

  • Applicants must have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software.

Anticipated Salary Range

Anticipated salary range for this position is around $63,000.00 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
