The Program Director is responsible for providing leadership and management of program services. The Program Director focuses on achieving valued outcomes for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and works collaboratively with others in the organization to provide high quality services.
The Program Director is a role model for Dungarvin employees, by virtue of the way they work with individuals with disabilities and their support teams. Program Directors should also model appropriate behavior for other team members by proactively identifying issues and constructively working to solve problems.
The Program Director is typically responsible for a case load of approximately 10-20 residential clients and 2-10 program sites. The Program Director will supervise 10-30 full-time Direct Support Professionals if overseeing traditional services settings. The number of residents, programs, and direct reports will vary if overseeing High Acuity service settings.
Work Environment and Office Hours
This position is in-office, providing site supervision for direct care staff. This role involves typical office hours, Monday through Friday, full-time. Additionally, the employee must have a flexible schedule with the ability to be on-call when needed (this includes weekends and odd hours).
Position begins at $57,000 annually with regularly scheduled increases.
This position is eligible for a $3,000 retention/sign-on bonus.
A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Science or related field
A minimum of 2 years managerial/supervisory experience, including hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees
At least 1 year of full-time, direct experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities
Must demonstrate good decision-making, time management and communication skills, and be responsible, mature, and flexible
Other qualifications:
Experience managing and implementing financial budgets
Must have good decision-making, time-management skills
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally
Ability to work with a diverse population of individuals (employees and persons supported) effectively
Must be able to effectively provide support, supervision, and positive leadership to assigned direct support professionals
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
