The Program Director will serve as the primary contact to the principal, and school administration. The Program Director will ensure contract compliance with respect to private, federal, state and city government agencies overseeing program funding.

This is a year-round position and will require availability for weekend training requirements and supervision of special events or activities. Reports To: Vice President, After Schools Location: 2635 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11208 Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt Salary: $65,000 - $72,000 Major Duties:

Liaise with the school principal and school administration to facilitate seamless integration of the community, staff and expanded hours into the overall school culture. Provide overall leadership and oversight for the 100+ participant after school program. Manage daily operations and coordinate with the school's administration, teachers, and custodial staff.

Recruit, interview, hire, manage, supervise, and train 15+ program staff and volunteers. Assess, evaluate, and observe on a consistent basis. Work closely with Education Specialist to support development of lesson plans and activity plans.

Work closely with Education Specialist to identify, develop, and implement relevant innovative curricula for middle school. Manage the daily schedule and calendar. Oversee the participation and engagement of participants.

Ensure the safety, security, and cleanliness of the site. Complete required narrative and statistical reports. Participate in appropriate school-based teams or committees.

Develop relationships with school and community stakeholders to communicate the goals of the initiative and ongoing concerns about students need. Liaise with parents/families. Ensure program activities and content are comprehensive and support initiative goals and outcomes.

Work with school and CBO fiscal staff to create and manage the program budget and ensure related financial reports are provided in compliance with DYCD requirements. Ensure program's compliance with New York City Public Schools, DYCD, DOH, and Council on Accreditation (COA)requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education or other related field required Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in unrelated field will be considered if they have completed the SAC Credentialing course. Candidates currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with SAC Credential course will be considered. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working with school aged children in an educational setting including at least 2 years in an administrative supervisory capacity Must be able to lead and teach a range of group activities and lead and facilitate staff trainings.

Excellent organizational skills: attention to details; ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multi-task Exemplary oral and written communication skills Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective. Must be able to pass DOHMH & DOE clearances and background checks.
