The College seeks an experienced academic leader in Social Work to work with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) on the accreditation candidacy application for Wilmington College's undergraduate program in Social Work and ensure that Wilmington College meets all accreditation requirements for the program including the nine CSWE core competencies and criteria to maintain their accreditation. These criteria include:

Encourage diversity and student development

The Program Director will guide the vision for the Social Work program, develop timelines and benchmarks for program initiation and growth, oversee and evaluate the curriculum, help establish clinical partnerships and assist in the development of program marketing plan. The Program Director will have some teaching responsibilities; the position is ideal for a candidate who is interested in both program administration and the opportunity to teach a variety of courses in Social Work.

In addition to creating a strategic plan for the Wilmington College Social Work program, the Program Director will supervise current Social Work faculty and hire faculty as needed for the program, as well as work with the fieldwork coordinator who will develop the partnerships with local and regional agencies to identify appropriate placements for students. The director will coordinate with admissions to support student recruitment, and will also oversee student progress, assessment, and the management of academic actions in cooperation with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Wilmington College's academic governance policies. The director will also engage in scholarly and professional development consistent with CSWE standards.
