Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Development Analyst

  • Quality Improvement, Assessment, and Accreditation Specialist for the Office of Education at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The position is pivotal in overseeing and supporting continual quality improvement projects, program evaluation, data analyses, and accreditation reporting for support of the medical school. This includes ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all necessary reports for the evaluation and assessment activities of the medical education program and graduate medical education, the consistent monitoring of the curriculum, and the continuous quality improvement activities. The role includes working closely with the academic support office and faculty. The position works closely on reports to support accreditation to guarantee the school meets appropriate standards and performs at the highest level.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Oversees the design and implementation of all ongoing assessment and evaluation and continuous quality improvement systems of the educational programs including undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education programs. Develop surveys and new data collection tools as needed.

  • Collects, organizes, and cleans comprehensive educational data from various sources, such as student assessments, faculty evaluations, and academic performance metrics, essential for detailed analysis and accreditation reporting.

  • Designs and develops detailed reports for internal stakeholders and accrediting bodies, illustrating findings from data analyses. Ensure reports are clear, accurate, and aligned with accreditation standards. Manage the timely delivery of these reports to meet internal deadlines and accreditation schedules.

  • Conducts thorough analysis to identify trends, draw insights, and support decision-making related to curriculum development, faculty performance, and educational outcomes. Use statistical tools and analytical methods to explore data and inform strategic educational planning.

  • Actively and regularly ensures all accreditation standards are met for LCME accreditation through ongoing review of program evaluation and quality improvement activities.

  • Facilitates test construction and assessment quality improvement by providing item level data, psychometric data, and working with faculty for test improvement. Supports educators in developing, implementing, and refining methods for competency and benchmark assessment in UME and GME.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Statistics, Higher Education, Public Health or a related field.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of research/evaluation experience in an academic, medical, or equivalent environment.

  • Or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus three (3) years of experience in a position with social science research responsibilities.

  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent writing, organization and communication skills are essential.

  • Outstanding ability to generate and implement solutions, ability to assess and prioritize tasks/data needs, and the ability to function in a team environment.

  • Must have a variety of software knowledge and utilization skills and willingness to learn more as needed.

  • Successful functioning is imperative for the continued successful operation of the medical education programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Program Evaluation, Educational Research, Education with specialization in assessment and evaluation.

  • One (1) year of lead project management experience or a research thesis.

  • Knowledge of medical education and basic statistical terms.

  • Knowledge of statistical software package and advanced experience in Excel.

  • Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert up to 25 lbs.

  • Work Environment: Office environment. Moderate Noise. Travel to clinical buildings.
