The Arc of Evansville is currently seeking a Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting individuals receiving pre-vocational services through The Arc of Evansville to achieve their goals through development and implementation of their Person-Centered Individualized Support Plan (PCISP).

Job Duties:

  • Conducts self professionally with truth, accuracy, fairness, and responsibility.

  • Works with individuals assigned to caseload on the development, implementation, and review of their PCISP and assists in training direct support staff on needs and goals of people supported.

  • Collects and analyzes data to report progress on the individuals goals.

  • Trains people supported on new jobs and provides ongoing training as issues arise.

  • Provides referrals for individuals on caseload for services that are needed/desired outside of the service delivery system of The Arc of Evansville.

  • Assists individuals assigned to caseload in resolving issues related to their work training at Arc Industries.

  • Maintains appropriate relationships with individuals served, families, and providers i.e. maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and treating them with respect and dignity.

  • Maintains professional communication with parents/guardians and other service providers concerning individuals on assigned caseload.

  • Ensures the rights and dignity of people supported are maintained.

  • Provides individual and group habilitation as necessary and completes all documentation as assigned.

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding staff, people supported, and their families.

  • Assist people supported in completing employment paperwork: I9s, W4s, WH4s, forms evaluating productivity related to disability, production rates, workers compensation claims, and proof of employment letters.

  • Production/alternative activity training and implementation.

  • Plans and implements alternative activities by providing material and training for production staff for alternative activities.

  • Assists individuals assigned to caseload in resolving issues related to their work training at Arc Industries.

  • Capable of performing manual labor, for multiple duties: Assisting with time studies, learning to use production equipment (baler, tape gun, pallet jack, pallet lift).

  • Completes and submits all required documentation required to meet BDS, Medicaid Waiver, and any other funding or regulatory source requirements.

  • Maintains files of people supported in accordance with the agencys Record Retention and Records Maintenance, Retention, and Transfer Policies and Procedures. Ensures that documents are filed.

  • Ensures that state regulations (BQIS, ISDH) are followed.

  • Ensures that required state and agency reports are completed thoroughly and submitted on a timely basis.

  • Demonstrates commitment to health and safety by leading by example and by participating in health and safety training, safety inspections, and the development of safety policies and procedures.

  • Adheres to all safety rules and procedures.

  • Trains staff on specific health and safety procedures to minimize risk.

  • Corrects hazards and unsafe conditions.

  • Uses universal precautions and provides personal assistance, as needed, to individuals receiving support.

  • Timely investigates accidents and rapidly corrects accident causes.

  • Supervises medication administration.

  • Maintains the medication cart.

  • Follows Core A and B requirements for medication administration, tracking, and destruction.

  • Manages supplies needed to maintain the health and safety of employees and people supported.

  • Updates medical information in the files of people supported.

  • Assists in implementing behavioral management strategies per established behavioral management plan.

  • Assists in emergency situations and in crisis prevention and intervention.

  • Firm understanding of behavioral needs.

  • Assists in activity audits as designated.

  • Assists in supervising breaks and lunches.

  • Assists in covering the front desk reception as needed.

  • If designated, takes on additional projects such as Safety Trainer, Safety Monitor, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act classes, and back up to data-entry clerk.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education/experience that meets the standards as a Qualified Development Disabilities Professional (QDDP) which includes a bachelors degree in a human services field or 5 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. A bachelor's degree in a human services field is preferred.

  • A high school diploma or high school equivalent is required.

  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Completion of Core A and B, MANDT training and CPR/First Aid training upon hire.

  • Maintains certifications for CPR/First Aid and Core A and B for medication administration.

  • Must pass a Department of Motor Vehicles background check and hold a valid drivers license.

  • Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record, i.e., less than 3 moving violations within 3 years.

  • Must have and maintain automobile insurance coverage as required by The Arc of Evansvilles insurance carrier or Arc policy.
