Position Summary:
The mission of the Cross Cultural Center is to be a space for students to imagine and inspire and equitable, socially just campus, to affirm and develop intersectional, cultural identities, and to build a more inclusive community. The Cross Cultural Center's core values are: Activism, Social Justice, Community, Education, Empowerment, and Diversity.
The Program Coordinator is directly responsible for coordinating all Cross-Cultural Center (CCC) signature programs along with assisting the Associate Director with the Affiliate Program. The Program Coordinator will primarily assist with the advisement, professional development, risk management and liability advising for all Affiliate organizations registered with the CCC. The Program Coordinator will supervise at least one student program coordinator and assist with the supervision of student affiliate organization coordinator. The Program Coordinator would oversee major events with the Associate Director such as the Empowerment Leadership Summit, Community Roots Festival, MLK Jr Symposium and Deconstruction Zone. Open Houses and End of Year Celebrations, as well as any other major departmental initiatives will be coordinated closely with the departments other Program Coordinator.

$24.71 - $41.86 (Hourly Rate)

Required:
At least 2 years experience in higher education or related field.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Interpersonal skills to interact sensitively and to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, students, community members, and outside organization officials and staff from diverse social, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking.
Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.
Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills.
Preferred:
Master's Preferred but not necessary
Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
Understanding of University rules and regulations.
Knowledge of cultural competencies and basic diversity, equity, and inclusion related terminology.
