Salary Information:

This role starts at a base salary of $30,082.

About the Job:

As a Program Coordinator in this role, you will direct the planning, development, recruitment, performance, and review of the Wheels of the World Program (Joni and Friends). You will utilize community resources to enhance offender life and provide general information to the community promoting a knowledge an understanding of the facility's partnership with Joni and Friends.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this roles are as follows:

  • Assure that all DOC policies and procedures are followed. The Wheelchair shop is run in a safe, efficient, secure, and sanitary manner.

  • Research and compile statistical data for outcome reporting on effectiveness of programs.

  • Abide by the mission statement and value statements.

  • Practice and enforce the principles of the Indiana Justice Model.

  • Oversee, direct, and monitor activities of the Wheelchair program. You will also be required to advise the administrative staff of issues, concerns, and/or relevant information. Ensure that all requirements for the Wheelchair program are being fulfilled (i.e. classes are being provided, documentation of participation completed, time cuts submitted).

  • Review and ensure quality and control of reports are accurate and submitted in a timely mannner. You will ensure that all issues/problems are resolved at the lowest level possible (i.e., informal grievance process).

What We're Looking For:

  • Upon hire, must attend mandatory 40 hour in-service training annually and any other training assigned.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Ability to carry out all assigned duties in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

  • Ability to monitor and oversee other programs assigned (i.e., Law Library, Thinking for a Change, Inside Out Dads, NA/AA program).

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.

Salary Information: This role hires at a base salary of $35,568. About the Job: In this role, you will be responsible for supervising juvenile offenders as well as their assigned counselors. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this roles are as follows: * Completion of monthly fact file entries for assigned counselors * Monthly audits of case records, treatment notes, progress reports, group notes, and CCMS notes * Regular meetings with complex staff to provide information about program changes * Attendance of weekly treatment team meetings to ensure policy is being followed * Develop and enforcing unit schedules * Work to reduce incidents in your assigned areas * Perform daily walk throughs of the complex for sanitation standards and to ensure expectations are met * Conduct staff check-ins with all staff assigned to your area * Submit monthly reports to your supervisor and the Warden, serving as a liaison between assigned unit and other departments in the facility * Serve on the Classification committee weekly, conducting re-entry ARC, and reviewing and signing all individual student summaries. What We're Looking For: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. * Prior supervisory experience preferred What You'll Need for Success: * Broad knowledge of an entire program area; * Extensive knowledge of all source materials and references including federal and state laws governing the programs; * Working knowledge of the organization of the agency and of state and federal agencies dealing with the programs; * Working knowledge of accounting and budget principles; * Ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret and correlate very technical material; * Ability to develop and implement new principles and policies and discern any far reaching implications; * Ability to communicate orally and in writing; * Ability to maintain effective working relationships with federal and state agencies.
