Essential Duties

1.Drafts a variety of written materials, including detailed individual prospect briefings and endowed gift agreements, proposals in support of specific University initiatives and internal and external correspondence that conforms to the style and voice of the sender. 2. Coordinates research on individual donors and the history and status of gift commitments as needed by gift officers and other University officials.

Ensures the accuracy of gift acknowledgments and all information communicated to donors and prospects. 3. Prepares reports on prospect pools summarizing giving, status, affiliation and other data points, as needed. 4. Assists in the coordination of special events, including dedications, donor recognition events and celebration of special initiatives to ensure timely and successful completion of the proceedings. 5.

Designs and produces ad hoc reports based on data extracted from primary databases to support fund raising programs. 6. Oversees stewardship functions to ensure that donors receive ongoing communication regarding the benefits of their gifts to Yale. 7. Supports fundraising directors and gift officers in a range of additional activities related to the University's development effort, as needed. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Position Focus:

Reporting to both the Associate Director, Development Initiatives and Internal Communications, and the Senior Director, Engagement and Campaign Initiatives, in the Yale Office of Development, the Program Coordinator (PC) provides a wide range of high-level support to the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Development and the Engagement & Campaign Initiatives team, including support for donor and volunteer engagement, special events and high-level projects, writing and editing, administrative tasks, and other related responsibilities. Working with considerable independence and exercising discretion in establishing priorities and managing assignments, they serve as a key administrative support and critical member of the AVP's team, helping to conceptualize, frame, and problem-solve sensitive concerns or requests on behalf of the Vice President (VP) for Alumni Affairs & Development (AA&D) and the Engagement & Campaign Initiatives Team. In this role, the PC will:

Draft a wide variety of written materials to both internal and external audiences, conducting research as needed, and conforming to the style and voice of the sender.

Design, develop, and produce reports and analyses through complex queries and intricate report manipulation using our primary donor and alumni database (Hopper), Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint; conduct ad hoc data extraction and data entry activities.

Support the Senior Director, Engagement and Campaign Initiatives, on fundraising and engagement efforts and other projects relating to the university's $7 billion capital campaign, For Humanity.

Establish, nurture, and sustain strong and supportive relationships with key constituents in key university departments, including staff in the offices of General Counsel, Provost, Public Affairs and Communications, and Institutional Affairs.

The professional who fills this highly collaborative position will demonstrate effective communication skills, initiating and preparing draft communications for the Senior Director, AVP, and VP to send to donors and others. The PC will produce content for various purposes, ranging from meeting notes to more complex pieces tied to a multitude of projects.

The PC will partner closely with others throughout the Office of Development, especially program coordinators on fundraising teams across the AA&D division.
