Duties of a Program Coordinator & Nurse Instructor include, but are not limited to: overseeing the program in its entirety; completing all of the necessary paperwork for on-site reviews and certification process; providing instruction and/or in resolving any issues with student participants; making occasional on-site visits to classrooms/labs to make sure all equipment is in working order at all times, conducts visits to clinical sites to ensure proper instruction is taking place and documents those visits for quality assurance and improvement. This position also assists with compiling materials presented for the approval or re-approval prior to submitting to the Georgia Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP) and oversees in-facility test dates scheduled by the program.

Essential Functions

  • Develops lesson plans that meet the standards of Georgia Nursing Aide Program guidelines.

  • Provides oversight for the nurse aide training program.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with state regulations and CARF standards related to the services associated with NATP.

  • Completes all required documentation for the state yearly on-site review.

  • Attending the first clinical rotation with all first-time instructors without nursing home experience.

  • Follow all Policies and Procedures for the NATP

  • Provides approximately 130 hours of program support during scheduled sessions

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current active Georgia License and in good standing with the GA Board of Nursing-License cannot have the following status codes-probation, suspended, expired, lapsed, inactive, pending, renewal pending, revoked or surrendered.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with two (2) years of nursing experience, at one (1) year of nursing experience as an RN must be in a long-term care facility (nursing home).

  • Train-the-Trainer Workshop attendance certificate from Georgia Medical Care Foundation.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Discretion/Latitude/Decision-Making

  • Exercises independent judgment.

  • Duties are performed under minimal supervision.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The RN is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to our patients in accordance with the established plan of care.
