Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This is a limited part time position and is on-site. The estimated schedule is 15 hours per week. The Program Coordinator is a Limited Part Time position for 52 weeks, funded under a federal grant. This position reports to the Director of Workforce Development. The main duties of the project coordinator include maintaining databases, executing tasks related to program objectives, and coordinating meetings. This position requires knowledgeable skills that include assisting with outreach, recruitment, enrollment, office administrative work and career development activities with focus on the Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the MassHire Career Centers, DTA offices and local community organization with focus of increasing the number of students enrolled in the Biomanufacturing noncredit grant funded programs.

  • Works with the WD Director and Marketing team to develop communication and engagement plans focused on reaching diverse students - including using social media, traditional media (radio), print, electronic distribution, etc.

  • Works collaboratively with Biotechnology Department, in references to student placement, student's stipend, any other assistance needed to meet the program outcomes and achieve the goals.

  • Demonstrates knowledge in community-based programs with a clear understanding of the unique needs of diverse communities and develop plans to increase the number of students participating in Biotechnology noncredit grant funded programs.

  • Ensures adherence to the program framework and appropriately maintain all documentation.

  • In collaboration with the WD Director lead all information session provided to all prospects.

  • Prepare all invoices, including student's stipend and monitor program expenditures.

  • Maintain financial and program records pertaining to the program activities.

  • In collaboration with the WD Director and Biotechnology department schedule courses and coordinate all services within the college.

  • Collaborate with Career and Internship Development office to support student with employment and career development needs.

  • Set priorities for managing the program, and complete required reports.

  • Assist in the preparation of grant requests and funding continuation from outside sponsors.

  • Foster and develop strong community partnerships between the college and biotechnology businesses.

  • Completes other duties as assigned by the VP of Workforce, Economic and Institutional Development.

  • Participate in mandatory training/coursework; including but not limited to:

Title IX and Sexual Misconduct

Sexual Harassment and Non-Discrimination

Security Policy and Notification of Security Reporting

FERPA

Municipal Ethics Law Assignment

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred a bachelor's degree in Biomanufacturing, Science, or related nonprofit fields.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered appropriate area of specialization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of the team

  • Strong communication skills with bilingual fluency in Hattian- Creole, Asian (Mandarin and Cantonese), or Spanish or Portuguese is preferred (oral and written).

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and comfortable in communicating with limited- English speakers.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills and must be detail oriented.

  • Experience with immigrant and refugee and low-income populations.

  • Some experience with gov't based public benefits application processing knowledge.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

  • High level of customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and effectively with a diverse group of clients at all levels.

  • Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others in a culturally sensitive and professional manner.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
