Newborn Screening Nurse Coordinator (Program Coordinator II)
Minimum Qualifications: - BA degree in nursing
RN with at least 2 years of pediatric, maternal/child health, or neonatal experience.
Active and valid registered nurse license in the state of California
Excellent communication skills • Excellent time management skills • Professional documentation, including electronic health records (e.g., State of California electronic records system) • Ability to work as a member of a team • Ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines • Ability to interact in an appropriate and professional manner • Demonstrated cooperative behavior and positive-problem solving and conflict resolution skills • Available to work dependable, flexible shift
Responsibilites:
Provides follow up and tracks all complex positive newborn screens; facilitates referrals for parents to physician offices, clinics, CCS Special Care Centers, or CCS-paneled specialists.
Provides follow up and tracks all verifications, inadequate screens, and early screens as needed, including screens drawn post transfusion and TPN cases.
Reviews PEP reports and evaluates needs for in-services and site visits. Coordinates all development/educational needs for assigned hospitals/providers. Develops corrective action plans (CAPs) for assigned hospitals/providers as needed.
Salary: $85,000 to $115,000
