Manages and coordinates economic development assistance efforts for entrepreneurs to facilitate creation of new businesses, expansion of existing businesses and development of business opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:
25% - Essential

  • Consulting

  • Finance and Accounting: Assists the client in preparation of complete loan or prospectus package. Educates client in what lender needs. Assists in determining capital and collateral needs. Advises on credit history and sound planning. Assists with client's financial statements to determine problems. Reviews analysis with client. Assists clients with determining collateral needs for business loans. Counsels clients on importance of credit history and helps in determining loan packages. Computes level of funding. Assists client in determining best sources of financial statements. Assists business owners in development of proforma balance sheets, income and cash flow statements. Aids in development of budgets.

  • Consulting

  • Marketing Research, Marketing, Promotion and Management: Assists in locating available material on businesses or products. Provides bibliography, prints, or other data related to client's needs. Informs of trade and professional associations and other available contacts. Assists in development of marketing plan for ongoing use in business. Assists client with determining product's life cycle. Discusses with existing business owners business organization. Instructs clients in management needs analysis. Assists client with analyzing existing personnel problems. Assists in development of a complete business plan. Prepares and distributes papers on current and relevant topics of concern. Provides technical assistance.

  • Non-Consulting- Seminars and Public Relations: Plans and participates in business seminars relating to all aspects of business planning and operations. Assists other economic development allies with coordination and delivery of seminars and programs. Promotes services of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) through public media. Speaks to classes at public and private educational facilities of the services offered by the SBDC. Encourages media publication of SBDC services and assists them in gathering information for publication.

  • Non-Consulting- Professional Development and Office Administration: Participates in professional development programs and classes.

    Participates with other statewide public sector employees to build resources throughout the State. Stays updated on economic events influencing the economic environment by attending conferences and seminars. Stays abreast of current business trends to assist clients in decision process.

    Manages personnel. Provides direction to the office's consultant and clerical specialist. Creates and transmits monthly, quarterly and special reports. Provides daily office administration.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Creates and implements communications, training materials and training sessions for campus wide users of iROAR, Degree Works and R25. Develops key communication pieces for campus-wide notifications regarding academic events, processes and issues. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES: 50% - Essential - Communication: Creates training manuals and videos for end users of iROAR: students, faculty, registration coordinators, advisors, and administrators. Revises documents, videos and FAQs as processes change or system patches and upgrades are implemented. Designs and composes communication materials (emails and instructions for campus wide events such as registration and commencement) for various groups within the campus community. Through collaboration with Registrar's leadership team, develops plans for social media and on line presence for the Registrar's Office. Produces registration instructions, forms, and other publications. All communications should be clear, concise, and consistent in style. 20% - Essential - Training: Develops and coordinates training sessions with subject matter experts for faculty and staff on policies and procedures for iROAR, Degree Works and R25 that support course scheduling, registration, enrollment, degree audit and classroom scheduling. Provides training that is specific to various roles such as advisors and registration coordinators. Schedules sessions regularly to meet campus needs. Provides necessary training materials. 20% - Essential - Administrative Support: Assists with general project management activities as needed for key projects. Trouble shoots issues related to registration, scheduling of classes, room scheduling, and Degree Works in order to better understand training needs. Assists with summer orientation and offer recommendations to improve processes and identify potential training needs. Responsible for responding to emails sent to the general department email address. Serves as back-up to front-line personnel regarding phone and walk-in traffic. 10% - Essential - Graduation Programs: Through collaboration with Enrolled Student Services, produces three graduation programs annually for distribution at the University's graduation ceremonies. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree and experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material.
