Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for Douglass Residential College.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Douglass Residential College-Honors College Living Learning Community.

  • Plans and executes events and other programming for Douglass-Honors College students, assisting the Douglass Residential College-Honors College Faculty Fellow, and collaborating with the Senior Director of Douglass Discovery to support programming and programs of the Douglass Residential College-Honors College Living Learning Community.

  • Reports to both Douglass Residential College and the Honors College. Through Douglass Residential College, this position reports to the Senior Director of Douglass Discovery & Academic Programs. For all HC elements and outcomes, this position will report to the Assistant Dean of Academics at the Honors College.

  • Supports high-achieving students at Rutgers while extending the mission and reach of Douglass Residential College more fully across Rutgers-New Brunswick. To advance this important partnership and enrich the Douglass Residential College-Honors College experience, the proposed program will refine experiential learning, research, and professional development opportunities for Douglass Residential College-Honors College students.

  • Creates richer educational and communal experiences; increase participation.

  • Extends the program over all four years of a student's education; and foster stronger outcomes.

  • Aims to increase the population of students co-enrolled in Douglass Residential College and the Honors College with the long-term goal of growing from 50 to 100 students annually.

  • Provides an immersive first-year experience.

  • Offers student-led programming in the second, third, and fourth years that satisfies both colleges' requirements.

  • Promotes positive post-graduation outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.
  • A minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good communication skills and computer literacy.

  • Knowledge in data management, Word, Excel, and other software in higher education administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers 2-5 years of experience working directly with undergraduate students.

  • Experience in the administrative aspects of program coordination and/or coordinating cocurricular programming.

  • Success working with highly diverse populations preferred.

Equipment Utilized

  • Microsoft Office, Rutgers WebApps, GetInvolved, Smartsheet, Canvas, Cornerstone, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Periods of physical activity associated with executing events, such as moving materials.
