Posting Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Admissions, the Program Coordinator I serves as the lead admissions representative for applicants to Rutgers University-Camden. This individual recruits students to the traditional on-campus programs at Rutgers-Camden . The Program Coordinator I reviews applications for both First Year and Transfer and performs credit evaluations for students who are offered admission. Provides direct support to students through the application review and enrollment process.
The Program Coordinator I works closely with Rutgers
As a Rutgers-Camden Admissions representative, the Program Coordinator I is responsible for coordinating and scheduling their own student appointments, credit evaluations, recruitment, yield events, communication, and outreach to students. This person will collect prospective student data and be responsible for the maintenance of student application records. This individual will demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, provide high quality customer service and integrate admissions best practices to support enrollment goals.
Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024.
Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus 2 years of significant experience.
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Successful candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus 2 years of significant experience, demonstrating solid judgment, organizational, planning, coordination, time management, multi- tasking and communication skills. Individual will be self-motivated and innovative with the ability to handle considerable and varied responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
The individual must demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively and represent the university knowledgeably, articulately, and enthusiastically with an effective professional demeanor. Automobile drivers license required. Should have strong computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Experience working with students in a higher education setting is highly desirable.
Experience working with underserved populations and first-generation students.
Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment
Candidate must be able to lift 30lbs. Candidate also have an Automobile driver license
for recruitment travel.
