THIS IS A TEMPORARY GRANT POSITION WORKED WITHIN THE OFFICE OF SUICIDE PREVENTION.
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Central Office, 2414 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
As the Program Coordinator I, under general supervision, you will assist all Zero Suicide Partners (SCDMH Department if Inpatient Services, SC Department of Corrections, and SCDMH Lexington County Community Mental Health Center) with implementing the Zero Suicide Model within their system. The Zero Suicide Coordinator will assist partners with grant deliverables and data collection.
Responsibilities for this Program Coordinator I include but are not limited to:
Provides project specific trainings, as well as other suicide prevention trainings, and resources across the state. Provides community outreach in assigned areas of coverage.
Tracks outcomes and impact of the project and submits reports of program activities and outcomes as requested.
Provides support to the Hope.ConnectsYou.Org Interactive Screener as suicide prevention/support in SC, as requested.
Provides social media support, as needed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in suicide prevention or related fields. Knowledge in suicide prevention and experience with providing trainings, as well as public speaking, social media skills, and data collection. Trauma informed care training.
Additional Comments
The selected candidate must be flexible and able to work beyond required hours of job if indicated by skills generalization and/or crisis intervention strategies. Weekly individual supervisor will be provided with access, otherwise, on an as needed basis.
