Lutheran Social Services is currently seeking a Program Coordinator to join our growing HUD Housing Program!

Our organization has an outstanding network of HUD housing apartment buildings throughout the state of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. This role will have direct responsibility for processing and verifying all compliance paperwork, reviewing documentation for tenant certifications and leases as well as aid in our ultimate goal of maintaining high occupancy standards and tenant satisfaction.

Position is primarily Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM. This is a full time and benefit eligible role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct responsibility for processing and verifying all compliance paperwork

  • Reviews and corrects documentation for tenant certifications, leases, etc.

  • Maintain high occupancy and tenant satisfaction

  • Ensuring all certification paperwork is complete according to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program rules and LSS expectations

  • Intake and process applications

  • Completes background, credit checks and HUD eligibility verifications.to complete approval for tenancy.

  • Have a high attention to detail and ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and neighborhood group representatives and city leaders.

  • Hold a HUD Certified Occupancy Specialist Certification or similar certification.

  • Have a working knowledge of HUD handbook(s) and publications and implements requirements contained within

  • Knowledge of property management software.

  • Ability to complete informational and compliance reports and respond to requests for information on property operations in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience is Required . May be dependent upon COA and/or contract/licensing requirements. Experience as a substitute for education must be in HUD/ Tax Credit

  • In addition to the above, three (3) years of professional work experience preferred.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Knowledge of health, mental health and community resources as required by the program, which may include knowledge of child and/or family welfare.

  • Considerable knowledge of dynamics of groups, interpersonal relations, social interaction, child development as required by the program.

  • Considerable knowledge of social problems and their effect on individuals, families and/or children, as required by the program.

  • Knowledge of mandated reporter guidelines.

  • Ability to organize and plan work effectively.

  • Ability to prepare and present detailed and complex reports.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to perform the essential duties of the role; a motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record per the LSS Driver Safety Procedure is required, and ability to meet LSS auto insurance requirements.

TRAVEL: Ability to travel on day trips as required up to 50%. Some overnight travel may be required.
