ECLIPSE (Evolution of Cancer, Leukemia, and Immunity Post Stem cEll transplant) is a novel organization within the Therapeutic Drug Discovery (TDD) platform at MDACC, with the mission of making MDACC and its partners recognized leaders in the identification and development of innovative immunooncology therapies that will cure hematologic malignancies.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative, fiscal, and operational support to the ECLIPSE platform in TDD, and to the Institute Director and Head of ECLIPSE. The position requires an individual with high reliability skills, independent judgment, strong interpersonal communication, and organizational skills, and ideally, in-depth knowledge of research and development pipelines. The individual must be able to coordinate operations on multiple projects, prioritize functions, and manage deadlines. The successful candidate will perform analysis and evaluation of program operations and procedures; prepare proposals and reports, establish program standards for achieving goals, and facilitate planning and coordination of special events.
Key Functions:
Administrative functions
Provide administrative support to the Institute Director and Head, ECLIPSE.
Ensure that strategic plans for ECLIPSE platform activities are developed and executed effectively and efficiently.
Along with leadership, implement business development strategies, including corporate partnerships, philanthropic, licensing and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Research Planning
Perform project analyses and evaluate resources, outcomes, and obstacles to project completion.
Participate in departmental and institutional related committees/meetings including Therapeutics Discovery Meetings, Hematopoietic Biology and Malignancy seminars, Joint Center for Cancer Bioengineering, and others as required.
Budgetary/Financial
Develop, direct, and manage the annual budget and justification of expenditures within ECLIPSE.
Prepare annual donor reports, as required, for philanthropic funds.
Oversee Moon shot related compliance activities.
Operational
Coordinate human resources planning and activities for personnel to include personnel budget activities, determining selection standards and processes and hiring activities.
Responsible for staffing and development of the administrative, operational, technical and clerical work force.
Collaborate with a variety of staff, physicians, and faculty both internally and externally, as well as being a driver for industry collaborations.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.
Preferred: Experience supporting large teams in a medical or scientific research setting or comparable technology-oriented business environment.
