This position is responsible for eliciting input from the community at-large that supports system transformation initiatives affecting local mental health services and the behavioral health system. This position is responsible for the dissemination of critical information from local agency Community Support Program (CSP) Committees to Bucks County Mental Health/Developmental Programs (MH/DP) in order to create a responsive system. This position requires excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.

The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide CSP orientation and training to local CSP Committees regarding the history and the principal philosophies of CSP. Provide education/training related to CSP values to all stakeholders.

  • Support the development and ongoing membership of local CSP Committees and assist in developing local CSP Committee and County Liaison Meeting agendas. Responsible to communicate local CSP Committee priorities to the County as well as County priorities to local CSP Committees.

  • Coordinate collaboration and ensure representation of Bucks County CSP at the SE Regional CSP meetings.

  • Support the development of member roles/processes (tie in with agency boards), meeting standards, and ensure some standardization of agenda items for the three CSP Committees and the County CSP Liaison meetings.

  • Facilitate the County CSP Liaison meetings in conjunction with MH/DP staff. Support the development of the CSP Subcommittees as appropriate and assist with taking action upon committee goals.

  • Assist the local Committees and the County CSP Liaison meeting to identify and effectively communicate their experiences and desires related to system change within agencies and the behavioral health system.

  • Coordinate and collaborate on the direction of Bucks County CSP with MH/DP providing feedback from local CSP Committees to the County CSP Liaison Meetings.

  • Provide behavioral health updates, education, and partnership to the community at large in the promotion of a community that is inclusive and where individuals with behavioral health challenges can participate fully in community life.

  • Periodically attend other County and/or community meetings or events to maintain knowledge of the community at large, ensure stakeholder perspective is present, and promote CSP.

  • Participate as a Liaison for the Bucks County CSP Committee at the Bucks County MH/DP Advisory Board meetings.

  • Coordinate and organize events identified by the local CSP Committees.

  • Provide oversight and support to the local CSP Committees regarding their fiduciary responsibilities.

  • Maintain and update the CSP website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license along with a driving record in compliance with St. Luke's policy.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma/GED required. College degree preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to relate with a diverse group of individuals or organizations in an effective manner. Excellent presentation skills. Individual must have an understanding of and respect for each individual's unique path to recovery. Work independently with high attention to detail and keep detailed records. Thorough working knowledge of the mental and behavioral health systems including available resources and provider agencies in Bucks County. Basic working knowledge of local, state and federal government as it pertains to advocacy.
