DESCRIPTION:
The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking a Program Coordinator to assist in the Adult Learning Center. The candidate will support the Adult Education Program, which provides English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Education Development courses to adult learners. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Support Adult Education teachers and instructors in teaching practice, student management, and curriculum.
Manage the admissions process for new students including overseeing or administering assessments to appropriately place new students.
Support RSIP in the hiring, supervision and observation of employees.
Write and report on grants for Adult Education and communicate significant program developments to building administrators and department leadership.
Build and maintain professional relationships with students, staff and community agencies.
REQUIREMENTS:
New York State Education Department Certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA).
New York State Education Department Certification: School Building Leader (SBL) or School Building Administrator (SBA).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and complete challenging tasks.
Previous experience in Adult Education is essential.
Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
SALARY: As per labor contract.
