Position Specific Information
This is a 1.5 year, grant funded position located onsite at the Valerie C. Woodard Center at 3205 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
This position will project manage and coordinate all system improvement efforts under the Community Solutions Built for Zero (BFZ) Initiative to end veteran homelessness in Mecklenburg County.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg has dedicated BFZ leadership that has been able to successfully implement the BFZ methodology, achieving quality by-name list data and notable reductions in both veteran and chronic homelessness over the past several years.
Additional capacity is needed to accelerate local progress toward functional zero, support the
community as it works to move into the Large City Last Mile (LCLM) Phase, and develop, implement, and monitor plans for system improvement.
The BFZ System Improvement Coordinator will work with the local team to develop the necessary infrastructure to implement system improvement projects aligned with LCLM efforts and overall local BFZ initiative goals; determine and implement project performance tracking to monitor project effectiveness; develop and implement a model to ensure the engagement of people with lived experience and other key community stakeholders; and oversee administrative tasks related to project management such as documenting community goals and processes, meeting planning, scheduling, and facilitation, managing internal and external communication, and completing local and national BFZ reporting.
Building such an infrastructure and standard operating procedures for system improvement projects will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of how improvements can be implemented (and adjusted) locally. It will also create a model that can be replicated across populations and systemwide.
