Job Description:


Individual will be part of the Program Control team assisting program managers with the planning, tracking, analyzing and reporting of multiple projects. The candidate will have significant interface with Program Managers, Program Team Leads, Contracts, Government Technical Monitors, Accounting as well as other functional organizations.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports and analyzes detailed financial data in support of program budget.

  • Develops and maintains spend plans. Tracks actual costs against projections.

  • Supports Program Managers by providing regular updates regarding program status of funds.

  • Assists in researching and resolving invoicing issues. Reviews labor costs weekly to ensure adherence to the program budget.

  • Prepares financial reports, briefing charts, spreadsheets, memos, and other documents within prescribed timelines for presentation, review, and analysis.


Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a financial field is required with a minimum of 0-2 years of experience. Project Control or related experience in the defense industry is preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Independent thinker and self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to support varied assignments.

  • Analytical, communication and presentation skills needed as well as the ability to operate in a team environment.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). Prefer working knowledge of Cost Point and an intermediate level of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, IF formulas, etc.)

Summary of the Position MAG Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Program Finance/Cost Control Analyst to support high visibility defense contracts with the DoD. This position can be performed from either the Huntsville, AL or Fairfax, VA locations and is contingent upon contract award. This position will report to the Director of Business Management and will partner with the Aviation Support Division Program Management team to establish strategy; prioritize requirements and achieve financial goals while ensuring the integrity of business processes. The Sr Program Finance/Cost Control Analyst's responsibilities will include: * Setting up cost control systems, preparing in-depth budgets for medium to large sized programs, and performing analyses to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines * Preparing program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled * Incorporating contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines * Performing financial analyses and preparing variance explanations, estimates to complete (EACs), and monthly corporate and customer reports related to cost/schedule performance, staffing, and Revenue forecasts * Ensuring adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government * Interfacing with customer and working under limited supervision Job Requirements Basic Qualifications: * Minimum 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline; or 8 years with a related Master's degree * Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Primarily Excel & PowerPoint * Understanding of financial management concepts such as funding, revenue, cost, profit, billed AR, unbilled AR, subcontracts, purchase orders, etc. * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously * Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ingenuity with the ability to effectively achieve organizational established goals and objectives * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer service and collaborative team environment * Prior experience supporting government contracts * U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, or similar enterprise financial systems * Ability to travel up to 10% of the time EEO Compliance MAG Aerospace (MAG) is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and is committed to Diversity and Inclusion.
