Responsibilities

Provides in-person Front Desk administrative support for the FSU Human Resources office by assisting and referring visitors and callers to the appropriate HR section/contact. Assists and troubleshoots applicants with application process and electronic onboarding process via phone, email and in person at computers in HR lobby. Responsible for intake and appropriate distribution of HR physical mail and email communications throughout each day.

Responsible for processing employment and income verifications not processed by vendor, The Work Number by Equifax. Responsible for providing employment verification memorandums to current and former employees as requested.

Assists in facilitating access to personnel records for review by internal and external customers. Assists in the imaging and auditing process of HR documents related to all employee personnel files including the appropriate structure and document attributes to ensure compliance with Federal, State and University policies, procedures and retention guidelines.

Provides service for HR Fingerprinting Office located in the HR Lobby in coordination with ERS team.

Performs other related duties as required and deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of the department including supporting HR Records, HR Background Check Team, and Employment & Recruitment Services as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and four years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Human Resources practices and procedures.

  • Experience using PeopleSoft software.

  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.

Previous clerical experience.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, large office setting.

  • Strong listening skills to best serve customers.

Anticipated Salary Range

Anticipated salary: $36,250

Considerations

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

The ability to maintain punctuality and adhere to a set schedule in order to serve customers during business hours is essential. This position's standard schedule prohibits remote work due to the required in-person customer service.
