Position: Program Associate, Global Programs
Reports to: Senior Program Manager, Global Programs
Scope: CIPE is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Washington, D.C.-based Program Associate on the Global Programs team. As part of a team reporting to the Program Director, the Program Associate will be responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support on thematic topics covering democratic governance, market reform, business advocacy, and other timely issues. Candidates should be enthusiastic about the role the private sector plays in advancing democratic and economic development.
Responsibilities:
Programmatic
Work with the Program staff in the Global department to coordinate project deliverables and activities, which typically includes:
Drafting and editing reports, proposals, and other documents for submission to donor agencies.
Tracking project outcomes using strong data collection and documentation practices. Assisting local partners to ensure high quality deliverables, including financial and narrative reports.
Monitoring grantee, contractors, and consultants' performance to ensure quality control in full compliance with procurement policies, financial reporting requirements, and evaluation plans.
Coordinating regular meetings, including moderating discussions, drafting agendas, and tracking action items for domestic and international staff and partners.
Collaborating with multiple CIPE departments to achieve programmatic goals, including Centers of Excellence, Regional teams and field Offices, Communications, and Grants and Finance.
Build and maintain a strong understanding of thematic topics in the Global Programs portfolio and CIPE's broader work in different regions by regularly interacting with regional and country office staff.
Monitor key events and trends related to thematic topics in the Global Programs portfolio and analyze how they create opportunities for advancing CIPE's mission and goals.

Develop and maintain programmatic, financial, correspondence, and contract files.
Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements and logistics.
As needed, coordinate translation of partner documents or other programmatic materials.
Adhere to appropriate CIPE and donor policies and procedures.
Other duties may include the following:
Perform subject matter specific research as needed.
Manage or contribute to public outreach and communications, which may include writing blogs and drafting promotional materials, in collaboration with the Communications Associate and Communications department.
Support planning and executing internal and external events, including writing announcements and invitations, coordinating guests, and publicizing on social media, in collaboration with the Communications Associate and Communications department.
Support new business development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or years of equivalent experience required in one of the following or equivalent fields: International Relations, International Business, International Development, Political Science, or Public Policy
1-2 years of relevant work experience required
Superb English writing and editing skills
Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills
Strong research, critical thinking, and analytical abilities
Ability to handle multiple detail-oriented tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
Ability to take initiative and work with limited supervision
Strong financial acumen and ability to develop and monitor project budgets
Ability to work in a diverse team environment, across time zones and in a hybrid format
High degree of cross-cultural competence
Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office
Fluency or advanced competency in a second language is beneficial, but not required
