We are looking for a skilled, detailed, Registered Nurse with at least 5 years RN experience to fill our full-time Program Associate Director of Nursing position. In this role you will be an integral part of our Behavioral Health Division and provide critical nursing oversight at Lincoln Regional Center (LRC), a 24-hour psychiatric hospital for adult patients with mental illness.

Individuals in this position provide clinical operations leadership under the direction of the Director of Nursing by providing supervision of professional and direct care nursing staff in the delivery of nursing services; and directing clinical excellence throughout the program related to initiatives and goals. Examples of work include, but are not limited to:

  • Support hospital competency and mentorship program to orient teammates to the hospital and patient goals of care, clinical care program/practices/procedures, and identify core competencies and accesses clinical competency. Program must satisfy agency, state and federal guidelines, as well as accreditation and licensure standards.

  • Conduct focused program assessments to determine effectiveness of current practice and implement changes based on review of clinical data when identifying, the need to develop new or revise existing clinical care techniques.

  • Collect, review, and analyze clinical care performance improvement data to identify performance gaps. Consult with Nursing Director, leadership, and other clinical staff to identify factors and appropriate strategies to resolve performance gap.

  • Collaborate in hospital committees to develop hospital clinical processes, review and assess clinical care practice such as infection control and recommend appropriate actions.

  • Support specific processes identified through quality improvement processes and implement and support strategies of improvement.

  • Assist with the risk management process for the hospital and campus though surveillance, audits, records, reviews, drills competency testing and communications.

  • Perform consultation with nursing and medical staff, supervisor, administration and external customers to determine staff training needs based on work performance or directed program change.

  • Directly supervise Registered Nurses, and/or Licensed Practical Nurses.

  • Supervise and monitor the therapeutic milieu of patient care to ensure that RN's, LPN's, and direct care staff provide appropriate treatment actions that are in the best interest of the patient.

  • Administer nursing services complete performance evaluations for assigned nursing service employees; address work performance issues with assigned staff following established counseling or disciplinary procedures; schedule nursing service staff for assigned shifts and work area.

  • Consult with psychiatrists, physicians, physiologist, and other clinical staff in coordinating individual patient care treatment plans and compliance with legal and Health Board orders.

  • Resolve conflicts between patients utilizing de-escalation techniques and other interventions to identify potential behaviors and triggers which can lead to crisis situation and create safety concerns for patients and staff.

  • Oversees and performs hospital staffing functions, as needed. Incumbents classified to this class must demonstrate clinical competency on an annual basis.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska and one year of experience assigning, reviewing, leading, or supervising the work of others.

Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of RN experience including supervisory experience

Other: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.

WORK SCHEDULE: 1ST SHIFT 7AM - 3PM

PAY RATE: $38.999 - $58.49 Hourly. Pay rate commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.

Knowledge of: Registered nursing theory and practice; accepted standards of care; policies and procedures governing nursing care; sanitation and infection control standards; planning, providing and evaluating quality nursing care; Nebraska regulations pertaining to nursing practice, including scope of practice parameters; psychology or another behavioral science; supervision or management of techniques, principles, or practices; adult training and development; principles and practices of employee development programs; federal and State laws, rules, policies, and accreditation standards as they apply to infection control and risk management; infectious diseases; prevention of infection.

Skill in: Coordinating and providing nursing care; directing nursing service shifts or program activities, development of clinical training and teaching.

Ability to: supervise a shift or program for nursing care; oversee the maintenance of medical records, write administrative reports as required; communicate effectively orally and in writing; research,
