Aspen Global Leadership Network

The Aspen Global Leadership Network is a growing, worldwide community of entrepreneurial leaders from business, government, and the nonprofit sector currently almost 3,000 Fellows from nearly 60 countries who share a commitment to enlightened leadership and to using their extraordinary creativity, energy, and resources to tackle the foremost societal challenges of our times. All share the common experience of participating in one of the Aspen Institutes various leadership Fellowships.

The Henry Crown Fellowship Program, established in 1997, is the flagship initiative of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. It seeks to develop the next generation of community-spirited leaders, providing them with the tools necessary to meet the challenges of business and civic leadership in the 21st century. The Fellowship is a unique mix of seminars designed to broaden the perspectives of the participants and hone their skills in values-based leadership. It honors the memory of Chicago industrialist Henry Crown (1896-1990), whose legendary career was marked by a lifelong commitment to honor, integrity, industry and philanthropy.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Program Associate coordinates the research and outreach to support the development of a diverse, high-quality candidate pool along with the interviews and onboarding of a highly diverse annual class cohort of for-profit entrepreneurial leaders who are at inflection points looking to move from success to significance.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director. The salary range for this role is $64,000 - $66,000. The expectation is for this role to be in either our NYC or D.C. office a minimum of 2x a week to collaborate with colleagues.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Candidate Care

  • Update marketing materials as needed, including paper brochures, videos and online resources. Continue updates and maintenance on candidate landing page.

  • Execute timely distribution of nomination materials and coordinate the submission of nominations.

  • Coordinate formal interviews and selection calendar.

  • Maintain up-to-date contact information for candidates, nominators, and other program contacts, acting as main point of contact during nomination process.

  • Analyze diversity among both candidate pool Alumni to update lessons learned and best practices.

  • Support onboarding process for new Fellows and their assistants, families, and staff.

  • Update and maintain candidate and nominator databases.

  • Execute notification process for all candidates and their nominators and supporters in a timely and accurate manner, including candidate redirection process.

  • Support Executive Director with thoughtful and intentional redirection of failed candidates.

  • Play a pivotal role in the sourcing, nominating, interviewing, shortlisting, selecting, and announcing.

Administrative

  • Maintain candidate and nominator databases including Salesforce and team document server.

  • Update materials for biannual Board of Overseers meetings including candidate demographics, recruiting processes, and other documents as needed.

  • Maintain financial records and receipts for program expenses and process invoices, expenses and reimbursements, etc. in a timely manner; manage monthly expense reporting.

  • Provide research, editing, strategic, creative and event support to all teammates as needed.

  • Update annual review of competitive Fellowships such as Presidential Scholars, Truman Fellows, etc.

  • Update annual calendar of activities for Candidate Care function.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO THRIVE

  • Bachelors degree or 1-3 years experience in relevant field.

  • Experience with identifying and sourcing diverse candidates.

  • Experience with the creation of a cohort or group of leaders.

  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed.
