Program Assistant

Reports To: Pre-K Director

Qualifications: High School/GED diploma

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in procedures to make the program operate smoothly for bus and car riders in assisting with transportation duties.

• Serves meals for students and orders janitorial and paper good supplies for the program as needed.

• Steps in as a substitute teacher and as a helpmate in interactions with the children and other duties as necessary. As such, must be up to date with the requirement for substitute teachers as mandated by Greene County Schools.

• Attends staff development in child related topics to keep current of regulations and best pre-k practices.

• Assist in keeping the kitchen area tidy each day and other janitorial needs.

• Provides assistance to any program staff that may include stepping in as needed in helping with making the daily schedules run safely and smoothly.

• Complies with the North Carolina Childcare Rules and Regulations that govern preschool licensing requirements by the Division of Child Development.
