The Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute invites applications for an Administrative Technician position in our Bismarck, ND office. The UGPTI offers an exciting opportunity to pursue administrative and event-coordinating activities that revolve around transportation professionals. The candidate seeking to join us for this position will be involved in a wide range of administrative and program management duties for our Bismarck office. The individual will have the opportunity to utilize his/her strengths in contributing to a growing organization that focuses on providing workforce development through our local technical assistance program to transportation professionals who work in North Dakota. This is a full-time (5 days a week/40 hours) benefited position.

This position is hybrid-eligible through the NDLTAP, Bismarck office. Some travel will be required in state and out of state a few times a year.

Specific responsibilities include:

1.Perform program administrative activities, enter travel expenses, billing, networking, marketing, and operational management for NDLTAP and over-arching UGPTI efforts.

2.Serve as event coordinator for educational symposiums, conferences, and training sessions.

3.Develop and maintain operational systems to facilitate program management.

4.Perform office receptionist responsibilities (phone, office visitors, virtual) with an emphasis on customer service and follow-through.

5.Anticipate and provide office/program support to UGPTI staff and clients through various methods.

Advertised Salary: $46K/+DOE

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma (or GED)

  • Administrative experience with an emphasis on project management/coordination of at least 5 years.

  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) for communication, data analysis, and networking.

  • Proficient in scheduling, arranging, and coordinating educational events, symposiums, and conferences.

  • High-level written and oral communication skills to market and define program accomplishments.

  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task assigned duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in business or related field.

  • Skill in the use of analytical tools and data analysis methods.

  • Ability to organize and compile program information into customer-friendly products.

  • Accounting experience to include invoicing and expense tracking.

  • PeopleSoft software or other accounting software experience.

  • Improving the skills and knowledge of the existing workforce through training, technical assistance, and the transfer of research results to practitioners.
