What You'll Be Doing
Wake County Economic Services is seeking a highly organized Program Assistant who excels with Excel and has a person-centered, positive approach to help our Family and Children Medicaid (FCMA) and or Food and Nutrition (FNS) teams make everyday life possible for thousands of people in our community! This position is located at one of our newest facilities, the Health and Human Services Somerset Building in Raleigh. In this role, you will be given the opportunity to utilize your analytical skills with reports and data as well as your customer service skills assisting the public by answering questions, researching, and resolving issues via phone and email. At the end of your day, you and your team's work will have helped residents and families overcome barriers by providing direct services and connections to community resources.
Essential daily functions;
Gather data from various reports from NCFAST and XPRTR systems and gather information from NCFAST to create spreadsheets
Create daily and monthly reports using statistics and create spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and export data from spreadsheets to create charts and graphs
Develop existing graphs available in NCFAST to report statistics of all programs under both functions
Serve as support for 2 Program Managers
Answer questions, research/resolve issues of clients via phone and email that reach the management office, and provide feedback to managers on resolution and trends of client issues

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Associate's degree
One year of job-related experience
Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Direct clerical or customer services experience providing support to a Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services, Work First, or Child Care Subsidy Program within a State or County Department of Social Services Two years (2) or more experience working within a State or County Department of Social Services providing support to Economic Assistance Programs Bachelor's degree in related area Advanced skill level with Excel application
