General Description:
Under general supervision, to provide student services; to perform technical functions and assist in program administration; and to do related work as required.
Examples of Duties
Essential Functions:
Assists in conducting surveys and compiles data concerning student support service needs
Maintains liaison with community agencies to promote the programs
Works independently and with a minimum of supervision
Interviews potential participants and completes preliminary determination of eligibility to participate in programs
Assists students with loan, grant, scholarship, and student employment applications
Provides a variety of administrative relief for program administration
Assists in the research activities of the office, including the analysis of the effects of existing Financial Aid policies
Coordinates computer data entry functions for Need Analysis, packaging and program eligibility requirements
Assists in maintaining program records and in the preparation of follow-up reports
Receives a variety of information which may be of a confidential nature
Types correspondence, reports and writes letters
Monitors the status of all program accounts
Assists with the supervision student workers
Develops working knowledge of special terminology related to program functions
Performs other related duties as assigned
Knowledge of:
Office methods and procedures
Microsoft Office software
Ability to:
Learn and apply pertinent procedures and requirements of program
Collect, organize, analyze, and store data
Understand and communicate effectively with students, staff, external agencies and the public
Train, supervise student workers
Perform a variety of clerical duties involving independent judgment and an understanding of District and program policies, functions and procedures
Promote and incorporate culturally affirming DEIA and anti-racist principles to nurture and create a respectful, inclusive, and equitable learning and work environment. In conducting their duties, staff members shall respect and acknowledge the diversity of students and colleagues.
