JOB DESCRIPTION: SAVA is seeking a candidate to obtain and processrequests to purchase a wide variety of office and law enforcement equipment,supplies, and serviced by reviewing the request for completeness and accuracy,ensuring available funds, determining the appropriate purchase methods inaccordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Other duties mayinclude the following:
Request quotes,select vendors, resolve problems and negotiate modifications to originalagreements, and maintain required documentation,
Prepare purchaseorders and Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA)s by verifying specifications andprice, obtain recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtainapproval from requisition department.
PrepareReimbursement Agreement between Federal Agencies (RA) in accordance with
Economy Act 31 U.S.C. 1535.
Determineadequacy and completeness of item or service description through research ofvarious manuals and catalogs or through discussion with manufacturersrepresentatives or requisitioning sources.
Utilize anelectronic financial management system to oversee the collection, accurateaccounting and reporting of funds; to collect and maintain up-to-datestatistical data for planning and reporting purposes.
Assign accountingcodes and process travel authorizations.
Process vendorinvoices including verifying and/or obtaining payment, approval, matchingpurchase orders and receiving reports, and addressing exceptions.
Process andmonitor account payable disbursements; reviewing account codes for accuracy,and verifying supporting documents and data.
Review andreconcile various financial transactions; examine invoices and other sourcedocuments to verify obligations and post appropriate records.
Create officebudget realignments.
Resolve shipmentsin error with suppliers.
Purchase Orders or BPA Call when the period of performance dates and warrantyhas expired.
Providedirection, work coordination, and training to other Purchasing Agents,assisting with more difficult and complex problems as needed. Performs generaloffice/clerical support duties such as responding to telephone inquiries,filing, preparing information summaries, as well as other administrative dutyneeded for the successful operation of the laboratory.
Perform otherlaboratory functions as assigned.
Must be able toobtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Must have a validdrivers license.
At a minimum,shall have an Associates degree or higher from an accredited educationalinstitution or foreign equivalent.
At least 3 ormore years of experience in accounting and administrative experience.
