This staff member will support the teachers who serve a varied population of students with disabilities. The staff member assists with the implementation of the program as outlined in the IEP of each student.

This staff member assists with adapting instruction that meets the individual academic, medical, developmental, and technological needs of the students. In accordance with the classroom assignment, this individual will provide 1:1 supervision and instruction to students in the classroom and during off-campus community-based instruction.

Responsibilities Carry out instructional programs for all students in accordance with the IEP. Complete instructional related duties as assigned, including preparing, organizing, and utilizing materials to develop skills in academic and behavioral areas for all students.

Assist with the implementation of instruction and assessment in relation to the Maryland VSC, Core Learning Goals, SFS, Content Standards, and/or Industry Standards. Will implement all specified procedures for completion of data forms in an accurate and timely manner. Create and modify tasks to reflect student needs/abilities.

Follow classroom routines as outlined by teacher. Attend and actively participate in all supervision meetings and in-service trainings as assigned. Implement all protocols, behavioral plans and crisis procedures according to trained procedures.

Maintain a safe environment for students and staff, utilizing safe and effective behavior management strategies. Participate in team and classroom meetings as assigned. Assist with the implementation of technology in instructional design and delivery. Qualifications

EDUCATION:

By the end of the employee's initial evaluation period, every individual must meet "No Child Left Behind" Legislation standards for highly qualified staff as defined as any one of the following: 1.) possession of an AA Degree, or 2.) completion of two years of college equivalence (minimum 48 credits), or 3.) a passing score on the state exam for highly qualified staff.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.

We are currently seeking a Nurse Aid Training (NAT) Instructor. We currently have openings in Baltimore, MD. These positions have a fixed schedule teaching the nurse aide students. Job Summary: Provides instruction and certification in the Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training (NAT) program; primary responsibility includes planning, teaching and evaluating course participants in the classroom and clinical skills performance, leading to successful completion of the program. Responsibilities may include: training and orienting NAT instructors; providing supervision and guidance to NAT instructor cadre in a geographic area; serving as liaison with external clinical sites; and serving as technical resource to NAT Program Manager. The lead instructor will provide a quality program that meets state regulations and compliance standards as well as meet the expectations for the course participants. Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Plans, coordinates, manages and directs the classroom, skills lab, and clinical setting training experience for students * Evaluates interpersonal skills, technical skills, and knowledge base of students in classroom, skill lab and clinical setting at regular intervals to measure student performance * Maintains confidential, accurate and complete records and reports as required by state and federal regulations and American Red Cross policy * Responsible for efficient and effective use of all supplies and materials maintaining appropriate controls for loss reduction and documenting replacement needs * Maintains a cooperative working relationship with clinical sites and staff to provide a comprehensive and safe learning environment for students * Completes and submits course records and reports in a timely manner, meeting required deadlines. * Meets 100% compliance for record keeping and program delivery requirements * Engages in regular effective communications with students, staff, and other stakeholders regarding programmatic changes and quality management issues. * Supports program completion activities such as graduation, recognition ceremonies and student development activities as requested * Remains current on state regulations and training standards Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to successfully complete appropriate instructor training as required by American Red Cross and the state. Experience with adult education preferred. * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Ability to travel to training and clinical sites * Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends * Knowledge of federal and state requirements of the programs offered * Technical knowledge and expertise in the area of long term care * Ability to work with diverse populations, including students with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds Qualifications: * Current license as a nurse in state where teaching will occur; RN/BSN preferred. * Two years' experience as a nurse with at least one year's experience working in a long-term care facility * Adult education experience preferred * Must meet state minimum nursing and teaching experience requirements for instructors • See addendum for additional specific state requirements regarding licensure, education, experience, training, etc. Apply now!
