The Department of Psychology at John Carroll University invites applications for a position in Psychology to begin in Fall 2024. This position entails instructing courses (equivalent to a 4 × 4 load) within the verified course sequence in the Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis Program. We are primarily interested in hiring someone with prior teaching experience as well as leadership and supervision experience. Professors of Practice also provide service to the university, primarily within the department and Applied Behavior Analysis program. This can include advising students and supporting students with the completion of their capstone projects.
The primary responsibilities of the position will be to instruct courses within the verified course sequence, supervision of students, advising students, supporting student capstone projects, and supporting program growth. The successful candidate will hold a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field and certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and will have a strong interest in supporting graduate students in a Jesuit liberal arts institution. Duties and Responsibilities
Instructing courses within the verified course sequence
Assisting students with research related capstone projects
Advising current students
Assisting the director for accreditation requirements
Assisting with the recruitment and acceptance of new graduate students
Maintaining relationships with supervision placements
Providing individual supervision to students needing individual site supervisors
Required Qualifications
Board Certified Behavior Analyst Credential (BCBA) and Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst Credential (COBA)
Prior teaching/supervision/leadership experience with demonstrated effectiveness
Prior experience in using the principles and methods of ABA to advance skill development of children, adolescents, and adults
Prior experience supervising the delivery of ABA
Prior experience applying the principles of behavior analysis to a variety of settings
Must meet accreditation requirements to teach capstone courses
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership experience within the field of ABA
Previous experience advising graduate students through coursework experiences
Ability to expand applications of behavior analysis to a variety of service area
