The University of Indianapolis Department of Kinesiology, Health, and Sport Sciences (KHSS) seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track Professor of Professional Practice in the field of Exercise Science. This is a full-time, nine-month faculty position with a start date of August 2024.
Teaching requirements will consist primarily of in-person teaching undergraduate exercise science students. The normal teaching load is 24 semester hours per academic year. In addition to teaching, this position will also include responsibilities in advising, service and scholarship.
A PhD in Exercise Science is encouraged yet not required. ABD or masters is accepted.
Masters candidates must have significant work experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have significant work experience in exercise assessment and programming with general, clinical, and/or sport performance populations and at least one of the following certifications; ACSM EP, ACSM/NSCA CPT, or NSCA CSCS. Other certifications may be considered.
Teaching experience is not required but strongly preferred. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities
Teaches undergraduate courses in Exercise Science and prepares students for professional employment.
Provide support and advise a minimum of 30 students per year.
Courses taught may include: Exercise Science Programming and Management, Strength and Conditioning, Clinical Exercise Physiology, Introduction to Exercise Physiology and Performance, Exercise Prescription, or other courses as assigned.
Required Qualifications
MS in Exercise Science (or similar)
Significant work experience in teaching or administering cardiovascular and resistance exercise assessment and programming
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Exercise Science preferred; ABD accepted.
University/college teaching experience
Nationally accredited certification from American College of Sports Medicine or National Strength and Conditioning Association
