The Department of Internal Medicine, University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking applicants for the position of Director of the USF Health Lung Institute. Our Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care is ranked 48th out of 5,500 hospitals in U.S.

News & World Report. Most recently, we are developing a Center for Advanced Lung Disease, and currently enjoy the best lung transplant outcomes and volumes in Florida. We teach courses to certify physicians in ECMO and LVAD use and run a fellowship program in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

Position Summary:

The Director will oversee all aspects of research, funding and faculty recruitment associated with the institute and will report jointly to the Dean, Morsani College of Medicine and the Chairman, Department of Internal Medicine. Requires board certification in internal medicine and/or Pulmonary and Critical Care, and current funding as a PI from at least two R01 grants, or the equivalent.

Preference will be given to candidates with proven track record in building research programs, mentoring physician scientists, and recruiting MD/PhDs into collaborative research positions. Appointment at the rank of Professor and Director of the institute requires a minimum of 5 years of continuing and productive service as a Full Professor and Division/Departmental Director, or the equivalent.

Salary negotiable. Florida Licensure required.
