The Professional Staff Nurse has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. In collaboration with the Unit Manager, and other health care professionals, applies competent clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality care outcomes.
The Professional Staff Nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is relevant to residents under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The Professional Staff Nurse must possess the ability to assess and interpret resident data needed to identify each resident's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs.
Demonstrates accountability for professional development that improves the quality of professional practice and the quality of patient care.
Makes recommendations for the improvement of clinical care and the health of the workplace and welcomes and participates in change initiatives.
Leads by investing and building healthy relationships among colleagues and other disciplines.

Reports and records all changes observed in condition or behavior of residents in accordance with documentation practices and policies.

Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
