We are currently hiring a Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse to support the Labor and Delivery unit at our Oakland location. The Labor & Delivery Department at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC is an extraordinarily high volume maternity unit dedicated to caring for patients experiencing normal/natural child birth, as well as complicated high risk deliveries, patients with drug addictions, and pregnancy loss. The Labor & Delivery Department houses 5 operating rooms and 10 PACU bays directly on the unit. You will work with many different OB disciplines and providers with various approaches to child birth-including family practice physicians, OB attending physicians, and midwives. Previous postpartum or labor & delivery experience is strongly preferred, however candidates with med-surg and/or ICU experience will be considered. Our RNs work a rotating schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor.

The Professional Staff Nurse is a valued step in the UPMC nursing career ladder, with opportunities for continued growth and advancement; Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply. Title and salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience. Six months experience is required for Professional Staff Nurses.

Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers.
Creates a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Incorporates national professional organization as well as business unit and health system goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
Six months of experience preferred. We consider new graduates with no experience.
