Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Director/Conductor of the Alvernia Chorus, the institution's oldest co-curricular activity,

  • Teach vocal music in private studio lessons, per enrollment,

  • Teach two regular, in-classroom courses in Music each semester,

  • Provide coordination and support for solo instrumental music lessons,

  • Provide coordination and support for Music Program and adjuncts, as needed

  • Investigate and initiate the creation of elite vocal ensemble(s).

Job Requirements:

  • Appropriate terminal degree in Music.

  • Mastery of vocal technique and pedagogy (including singing in languages other than English).

  • Previous success in directing/conducting vocal ensembles.

  • Previous teaching experience in studio and classroom settings is necessary.

  • Desire to further the mission of the university through the arts.

  • Continued professional and creative practice is strongly desired.

  • Experience and desire to support recruitment preferred.
