The Opportunity:

As a Professional Services Senior Software Engineer at Venafi, you will work directly with customers to extend Venafi's products to solve unique problems. As part of the Professional Services team you will estimate, design, build, and deliver software solutions to solve enterprise encryption key management problems across different industries, technologies, and business problem areas.

As a 'voice of the customer' the Senior Software Engineer will provide insight and recommendations into the product development process to ensure Venafi products will continue to lead the marketplace for securing, protecting, and managing encryption keys. Based on the Venafi Trust Protection Platform, and working primarily in a Windows .NET environment, the Senior Software Engineer will build: customized features for the product; integration with proprietary and third-party systems; utilities; and user interface components. Development will primarily occur on Venafi systems (either at the Corporate office or at home or remote offices), but travel to customer sites for design, development, installation, and/or testing may be necessary on occasion. The Senior Software Engineer will be an expert on the use of the public and private interfaces of the product, as well as an expert on the features and functions of the off-the-shelf product.

Key Result Areas:

  • Provide leadership within Venafi and with our customers in the design of custom solutions for customers based on Venafi and partner products and technology, addressing specific customer business problems

  • Lead the specification, estimation, design, build, and delivery of custom solutions in a customer environment

  • Participate in pre-sales meetings with clients and Sales team to gather requirements

  • Work on projects ranging in scope from 1 person, 1 week to multiple developers, multiple months

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, especially technical staff

  • Work with Venafi Product Management to ensure the development of products that provide ease of deployment for customers

Minimum Skills and Experience required:

  • Recent C# and Javascript development experience

  • 5+ Years of development experience overall

  • Understanding of web application design, development and implementation

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Experience interacting directly with customers / end users.

  • Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and other data security technologies

  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • CISSP certification
