Specific duties include but are not limited to
The PS Engineer will have at least 5 years' experience in deploying and supporting technologies comprising our Targeted Delivery Portfolio. Projects will consist of Proof of Concept (POC) deployments and complex installation and commissioning in customers' production environments. This individual must be able to work independently and have strong technical and analytical skills. Working knowledge of the television origination and distribution industry, including OTT video would be helpful. This position will be working within a matrixed organization to collaborate across functional areas and Subject Matter experts on the Targeted Delivery portfolio.
Deploy, troubleshoot, and validate products and multi-product solutions in VM and cloud environments
Provide technical support and/or training on the installation, "go live" and post-launch support environments.
Communicate and coordinate with other departments and 3rd-parties as necessary to manage project dependencies for all aspects of delivering a project
Provide customer consulting assistance on workflow, design, alternative approaches, system interfaces and application of the system. Research information utilizing internal and external resources.
Successfully manage a moderate to heavy workload requiring technical and practical knowledge; utilize insight; good judgment; good interpersonal and time management skills on assigned jobs of varying levels of difficulty
Act as an interface between Customer Support, Project Management, Sales and Engineering, addressing all key activities and/or issues relevant to the engagements assigned.
Coordinate job acceptance and gain sign off with Customer, Sales and/or other key groups.
Learn and understand Imagine Communications' Targeted Delivery software products and implementation requirements in order to serve as implementation resource. Knowledge of additional external vendor products a plus.
Utilize Service and Engineering resources to facilitate replicating issues and monitor issue resolution.
Provide "field" information regarding the quality of design, interoperability issues
Act as a positive contributing member of a team reporting to an Imagine Communications Project Manager when assigned to larger projects.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks to project development and schedule; drive resolution of all project issues; be a creative problem solver
Communicate effectively with customers at all levels, monitoring and reporting on updates to open issues, current and future initiatives, and all matters of concern to the customer.
Travel to sites as required
4-year technical degree or equivalent work experience.
5 - 7 years of experience in a customer facing technical role.
Expertise in deployment/administration of Linux enterprise system or equivalent skills.
Expertise in deployment/administration of enterprise-class IP network or equivalent skills.
Expertise in fragmented video architectures, CDNs, and content distribution workflows
Expertise in OTT packaging standards such as HLS and DASH
Expertise in deployment/administration of solutions in public cloud environments highly desirable.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
