Join our team as a Pet Stylist / Groomer
As a Pet Stylist / Groomer, you will:
Perform Hands on Pet (HOP) assessment on all pets to recommend services and build trust with the pet parents
Perform dog grooming services to breed standards and to client's personal preferences
Maintain a high level of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions for all pets in the grooming area.
Ensure the safety and well-being of every pet and associate in the store, taking immediate action whenever necessary
Conduct leadership activities in the absence of a store leader, including opening and closing the store, pet safety inspections, and management of associates
Collaborate with leadership on other duties as needed

Knowledge of customer service principles.
Knowledge of salon services, promotions, and incentives.
Knowledge of basic business math.
Knowledge of safety policies, laws and regulations.
Knowledge of cash handling.
Knowledge of proper bathing, brushing and grooming techniques, as well as breed standards for advanced and complex grooming.
Ability to properly and safely bath, brush and groom dogs to breed standards.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with superiors and coworkers.
Ability to use registers, phones, computers, and scheduling software to assist Pet Parents.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Education and Experience
Demonstrated competencies required for this job are most often acquired through the following practical experience and level of academic education and/or training as suggested below.
Education/Training: Minimum of High school diploma or GED.
Certifications and Licenses
Must possess or be able to acquire the following certification(s) and/or licenses:
PetSmart Groom Academy (or passing technical review by District Academy trainer).
