Base Salary: $54,035.00 Performance Pay: Available annually New hire experience: $500 for each full-time year of certified teaching or Verified like experience New hire education: $65/hour of graduate level credits: BA +45 hours max, MA +60 hours max $1000 for advanced degrees Class/Calendar:

OVERVIEW: The Professional Learning Coach is a master teacher, coach and district liaison between the Teaching and Learning department and assigned programs.

The specialist supports professional learning for probationary teachers, site-based and district coaches, and other certified professionals as directed. The specialist promotes student learning by designing and facilitating high quality professional learning, providing targeted and intentional support for those new to the profession, and increasing the capacity of district and site-based coaches. QUALIFICATIONS: Current Arizona teaching certificate with evidence of highly qualified status Minimum five years successful classroom teaching experience Possess a strong commitment to continuous improvement supporting the MPS promise, Portrait of a Graduate and strategic plan Demonstrate commitment to personal and professional growth and learning through ongoing reflection Expert knowledge of the evaluation framework and ability to connect it to teaching practice Instructional coaching experience with knowledge of diverse coaching tools, stances and strategies that result in building capacity in others to impact student learning Ability to engage in collaborative partnerships and maintain professional relationships with leadership, administrators, colleagues, specialists, coaches and teachers Extensive knowledge and understanding of best practices in teacher induction and supporting systems Expertise in best practices for instructional design, planning, and facilitation of professional learning for a variety of audiences using principles of adult learning Ability to present learning using multiple modalities as appropriate to the topic and audience Ability to collect and interpret data to assess professional learning and induction program quality, impact, and identify needs Dynamic presentation skills that are responsive to the situation and audience needs Knowledge and understanding of effective instructional strategies and pedagogy Knowledge of national, state, and district standards for new teacher support and professional learning Knowledge and skills in areas such as classroom management, alignment of curriculum, instruction, assessment; and peer coaching Evidence of proficiency with technology including presentation equipment, learning management systems, tools and programs; and a willingness to use technology innovatively and integrated into facilitation of professional learning and coaching cycles.

Knowledge of current learning models in schools (ie: teaming model, competencies, deeper and personalized learning, etc.) Effective communication, planning, organization, presentation, and leadership skills; ability to work with and motivate others Ability and willingness to work outside the traditional teacher working hours and calendar, including occasional evenings, weekends, and summers Ability to perform moderate physical tasks (e.g., lifting 50 pounds of books) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Professional works in conjunction with district leadership and various departments to enhance teacher effectiveness and support the implementation and integration of state and district standards/curriculum. The specialist: designs, facilitates and manages overview training in the evaluation framework for all certified new hires to implement as a tool for increasing instructional effectiveness gathers and interprets data from principals, site-based coaches, and other school personnel as needed to identify professional learning needs aligned to district goals collaborates with multiple specialists to create a tiered system of supports for site-based and district coaches. supports site-based coaches through coaching cycles, models of coaching, problems of practice, etc. collaborates with multiple specialists to design and facilitate high quality professional learning for certified personnel including coaches, teachers, and other specialists models direct, explicit, systematic instruction including effective teaching techniques and strategies creates a system that uses multiple data points to evaluate the impact of professional learning conducts themselves as role models for professionalism at all times co-constructs a system of support for the district induction program including onboarding, targeted professional learning for new teachers, coaching for new teachers, etc. co-plans, coordinates, facilitates, communicates and evaluates orientation for educators new to teaching and those new to the district leads professional learning as needed engages in continuous self-reflection to increase professional knowledge, skills and expertise about effective teaching and learning, conditions for school improvement, and coaching skills provides leadership for district and site programs or projects as needed performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the work unit engages in collaborative partnerships with specialists in the Teaching and Learning department to support state and district standards/curriculum through planning and implementation of professional learning supports induction teachers on-site through coaching cycles as needed Funded:
