Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics and Warehousing Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the performance of our US distribution centers, with a focus on optimizing operations, maintaining accurate inventory, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and a business-oriented mindset.

At organizational level, this role will maintain relationships across logistics, warehouse and SEA business unit employees to ensure that services are executed efficiently and timely. The role responsibilities include analyzing operations, reviewing workflows and production processes, reducing inefficiency, and ensuring that final products are delivered on time and meet the established quality standards.

This role will actively support the Inbound, Outbound, and Inventory Management logistics operations of SEA LPS and identify areas for continuous performance improvements. This role will develop and communicate with Logistics & 3PL WH staff across multiple locations. Responsible for routine or standard technical problems and responds to standard requests from internal and external customers, using effective communication channels and mediums. Makes decisions within guidelines and policies, supporting goals, objectives and requirements.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage and measure logistics processes including shipping, warehouse, inventory management, and damaged products claims identifying exceptional or high cost deviations and implement countermeasures to remedy poor performance

  • Analyze logistics data, identifying and predicting deviations from process, and making procedural changes to take advantage of increased opportunity for efficiency or correct inefficiencies within the logistics systems

  • Work directly with 3PL and 4PL partners to drive measurable process improvements

  • Conduct on-site warehouse audits

  • Execute continuous improvement activities to improve scorecard performance, service levels, and reduce cost, lead-time, and overhead

  • Identify, determine root cause, and correct charges due to Vendor Compliance and Service Level charge-backs

  • Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI and performance reviews

  • Lead special projects to support quality, customer, performance, or other initiatives. Provide on-site support as necessary.

  • Perform system testing with MIS team prior to live implementation

  • Support warehouse expansion and/or consolidation efforts as needed for warehouse footprint optimization

  • Ability to create dynamic reporting for key measurable and performance tracking

  • Provide on-site support for any transitions or startups when required

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5-10+ years of logistics and warehousing experience required

  • Certification in Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years with proven experience utilizing Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing initiatives in production is preferred

  • Prior experience in logistics operations, supply chain management and/or warehousing, 3PL (managing relationships) preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and create original analysis

  • Strong interpersonal and consensus building skills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others in acceptance and approval and to provide clarification

  • The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects, issues and activities

  • The ability to read, interpret, and simplify complex information from various documents to create clarity and ease of understanding

  • Advanced Excel, SAP, WMS, ERP

  • Solid understanding of the most up-to-date industry standards and guidelines and be committed to providing the highest level of service to our customers

  • Strong Excel proficiency and skills

  • Ability to work independently on problems with limited scope

  • Ability to communicate in writing, through email, reports, presentations, or orally, product logistics matters to all audiences

  • Ability to work extended periods of time in an open office environment

  • May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule, including weekends and or holidays

  • Ability to travel 10-25%, sometimes on short notice

Compensation for this role for a candidate based in California is expected to be between $139,500 and $145,500 but may be higher or lower in other regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
