The Position
Licensed Professional Engineers provide professional services involving the application of engineering principles and data, or activities in connection with public or private utilities, structures, buildings, machines, equipment or projects impacting the public welfare or the safeguarding of life, health or property.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position will oversee and/or develop designs and specifications for construction improvement and maintenance projects, including but not limited to dams, domestic and production water wells, boat ramps and docks, residential and seasonal housing facilities, building/office additions and tenant improvements, storage facilities and laydown yards, roadways and parking areas, ADA facilities, culverts and drainage facilities, septic systems, etc. The candidate shall be comfortable performing engineering calculations, developing engineer?s materials and cost estimates, managing engineering design and construction projects, interpreting various building codes, permitting, and providing technical and engineering support to Department staff.
It would be beneficial if the candidate had a knowledge of surveying, water rights and CAD software. Position could travel between 3-5 days at a time.
