The Professional Development Training Specialist is responsible for demonstrating subject matter expertise of adult learning techniques and content development skills. This position will be required to propose and execute modifications to current professional development training programs by conducting analyses. Effective design, development, implementation, and strategy of professional development training programs will be the focus of this role. This position will be responsible for creation of training content, redesign of current training content, evaluation of training plans/schedules, creation of training instructor guides, building a help system, creation of job aids and process, and design of refresher training programs. Additionally, this position will coordinate, schedule, and deliver high-impact training classes, both virtual and in-person. Work is performed under limited supervision and is somewhat complex.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Collaborate with leaders, and Subject Matter Experts to analyze and identify a target audience's professional development training needs; design and implement professional development training project plans.

  • Develop professional development training and support materials, including facilitator's guides, participant's guides, templates, tutorials, simulations, job aids, and self-study materials.

  • Schedule and deliver live in-person, virtual, and/or hybrid training sessions.

  • Establish and monitor metrics; evaluate effectiveness of professional development training program; recommend and execute modifications.

  • Prepare and deliver analysis and reporting of professional development training efforts and results.

  • Work collaboratively with business partners, subject matter experts, and technical resources to drive a successful training program.

  • Contribute to the overall success of the Training & Development function; promote professional development training programs and career pathing initiatives.

  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices related to soft skills, professionalism and training and development.

  • Create and maintain documentation of training activities.

  • Research, evaluate, recommend and implement Training & Development vendors and/or technology as necessary; source external content and tools for learning programs as necessary.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; 3-5 years' experience in related field with minimum of 2 years of instructional design; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Relevant experience as a people leader.

  • Intermediate knowledge and application of adult learning theory, the instructional design process, best practices and standards, blended learning approaches and evaluation methods.

  • Exemplary teaching and group facilitation skills.

  • Exemplary training material development skills.

  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, leadership, influencing, organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both verbally and non-verbally.

  • Advanced skills in written and verbal communication, and document design.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Power Point, and applicable learning management systems.
