POSITION SUMMARY:

As a member of the Learning & Talent team, contribute to the advancement of organizational outcomes by cultivating staff capacity and promoting learning and knowledge management both within Clayton and in the field. Build and maintain essential relationships with partners and the community and provide outreach for training services.

Develop effective training strategies and deliver high quality training experiences that connect talent to organizational goals, educational approaches, preferred culture and that build and empower teams. Elevate workplace culture through effecting human capital practices grounded in Clayton values in order to attract and retain highly qualified, diverse staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction, design and development of learning systems in and across Clayton Early Learning. Plan, implement and assess intentional professional development activities to build and expand staff skills, competencies and capacity.

    Develop training resources, timelines and delivery methods. Identify gaps and support talent in individualizing solutions to meet training content needs and access resources.

  • Seek and nurture partner relationships to further Claytons external training outreach. Develop high quality early childhood training opportunities for early childhood professionals within Clayton and across the field using a variety of training formats. Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff on professional development offerings, facilitation and coordination to ensure for innovative, relevant and sustainable content.

  • Serve as an educational resource to staff to recognize and achieve their educational goals and requisites. Support students in developing credential completion plans, formulating schedules, recommending courses and individualizing education solutions.

    Collaborate with university professors/administrators and local, state and national bodies to stay up-to-date on program changes and regulatory requirements. Partner with supervisors to track educational achievement of staff.

  • Lead and facilitate a viable internship/placement program to build staff capacity and develop pathways for hiring top talent. Oversee and implement core program components including interviewing, onboarding, developing learning objectives and meaningful experiences, coaching and role clarity, intern evaluations and serving as a liaison to colleges and universities. Develop and refresh formal, branded materials, processes and forms to guide program implementation.

  • Support and further efforts and projects to articulate and embed the Clayton Way and organization values. Exhibit effective leadership utilizing strengths-based approaches, reflective practice strategies and change management techniques. Develop, encourage, equip and empower highly skilled leaders from every chair to realize strategic goals.

  • Communicate and engage new hires in a dynamic and relevant onboarding process. In collaboration with the L&T team, assure talent receives consistent and strategic transitional support to include clear position expectations, social connections, department orientation and mentorship.

    Deliver onboarding modules and embed strategies to leverage high performance. Achieve benchmarks and performance targets for data collection and file completion.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Minimum education: Master's degree in related specialty or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work experience in positions similar or related to this job: 2-4 years in a leadership/management role with a strong history of relationship-based work, project planning and change management.

Special training or experience: Specialized knowledge of licensing, Head Start and state credentialing requirements.

Knowledge of adult learning development and strategies. Specialized knowledge of educational approaches and curricula. Effective and clear oral and written communication and follow-through.

Evidence of the ability to compose standards and operating procedures. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills demonstrating Claytons cultural values and resulting in positive staff outcomes. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality and a strengths-based approach to solving problems. Excellent organizational skills.
