Manhattanville University School of Education is seeking a part-time Professional Development School Liaison to serve at one or more of our Professional Development Schools (PDS) two days each week. Our Professional Development Schools are part of Manhattanville University's Changing Suburbs Institute PDS network of 10 districts and 19 schools. The PDS Liaison will serve as the link between the school(s) and the university. This person will work with Manhattanville University faculty/students/administrative staff and PDS faculty/students/administrative staff to implement and sustain PDS national standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises student/supervised teachers
Works with teachers to identify areas of professional development interest and coordinate such interests with University faculty. Develops projects and programs related to teachers' and faculty's professional development interests
Coordinates any and all projects developed between the University and school
Works with University and school administrators to develop and implement an assessment of the PDS
Works with University and school administrators and faculty to organize events (e.g., receptions and after-school programs) between the University and the school district
Attends School of Education PDS Liaison Working Group meetings, and gives monthly report of activities
Helps to develop the agenda and attends PDS Advisory Board meetings and annual retreat
Collects and helps to analyze data about PDS student teachers, cooperating teachers, and other pertinent initiatives
Completes Goals & Planning Development Reports (3x/year) and Year End Goals Narrative Report.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in a field of education
Teaching experience
Salary Range: $5,200 ($2,600 per semester). Additional compensation: $400 to supervise each student teacher per semester; $3165 per semester if teaching Student Teaching seminar.
