Professional Development Coordinator for global law firm in Washington, DC.

This position is responsible for assisting with firm and practice training. Candidate is the liaison for training with committees, practice groups, administrative departments, attorneys and staff throughout the Firm and is the point of contact for internal presenters and outside consultants and vendors.

Responsibilities for this position include: overseeing program logistics including scheduling, registration, materials, and logistics including conference facilities, food service, and technology; draft/distribute program communications; assist with promotion of professional development activities; operate as CLE database administrator; coordinate CLE administration and record-keeping for DC attorneys and coordinate with other offices to do the same; confirm firm-sponsored programs comply with CLE requirements as appropriate; maintain data and generate usage reports for CLE tracking system and other rosters as necessary; produce annual Course Catalog and work with practice groups to update Portfolios and Curricula on an ongoing basis; Maintain knowledge base of available training alternatives and respond to inquiries about outside training opportunities; assist with department budget analysis.

Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree, strong attention to detail, strong interpersonal, and written communication, client service orientation, MS office proficiency, prior experience with database search and data entry, preferably an HR or learning management system, 2+ years of experience in comparable position in law firm or fast-paced professional services environment.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

The Coordinator will be responsible for contributing to the successful execution of multiple professional development programs that serve the career development needs of diverse segments of the Society's membership. Professional development programs include live workshops and events at the SfN annual meeting and web-based projects developed throughout the year. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who would like to build their career in a nonprofit and be a part of a fast paced and dynamic team. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Support development of SfN's online professional development initiatives, including annual meeting content capture and post-production, webinars, live chats, toolkits, articles, and virtual conferences. * Serve as primary point of contact and logistical lead for professional development events at the SfN annual meeting, including the professional development workshop series, the Meet the Experts program, the Career Development Topics: A Networking Event, and the Celebration of Women in Neuroscience Luncheon. * Staff the Professional Development Committee and relevant subcommittees and working groups by managing logistics for meetings (in-person and conference calls), preparing meeting materials in areas of responsibility, taking meeting minutes, etc. * Manage day-to-day operations and customer relations for the NeuroJobs Career Center. * Lead the development and implementation of communication plans for SfN's live and web-based professional development programming alongside the Marketing and Member Communications teams. * Process and track procurements and reimbursements related to projects/activities in assigned areas of responsibility and maintains related databases and tracking systems. * Conduct relevant research to support planning and implementation of new and ongoing department initiatives. * Provide overall administrative support to the department. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree required. * 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications: * Effective oral and written communication skills. * Strong research skills. * Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail. * Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
